Government has approved the proposal of establishing corridors for connecting all the wild life sanctuaries and forest reserve of Rajasthan including Ram Sagar, Van Vihar, Kesarbagh, Keola Deo, Ranthambhore, Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary, Darra Forest, National Chambal Forest, Mukundara Hills National Park and Bhensarorgarh Sanctuary. Ranthambore National park would be the first one in implementation phase. These corridors will avoid cases of straying tigers from their core areas which sometimes lead to poaching.
Other than tigers, Corridor will also implement adequate safety measures for other wild animals [ e.g Leopards, Wildpigs, Deers etc]
Corridor will be named Rajiv Gandhi Biosphere reserve.
